Augmented reality is the placement of digital content within the physical world through the use of technology. It gives 3D experiences to users, resulting in high engagement. While similar, virtual reality is an immersive computer-generated simulation of a 3D environment.
Our Role in Augmented & Virtual Reality
We utilize augmented reality and virtual reality technologies to unify geographically-dispersed expertise and accelerate training and proficiency levels of the U.S. Air Force sustainment workforce. These technologies allow operations and maintenance communities to quickly view, assess, and resolve problems to reduce flight-line waiting and response times.

Haptic Feedback Glove for Virtual Reality
What is this project
The RSO is working with VRgluv to create a force-feedback haptic glove that tracks fingers and applies forces across the hands to simulate an object's presence. When integrated into a virtual training environment, VRgluv provides the optimal input device to allow users to train hands-on tasks and more quickly develop skills and procedural memory.
